New after-hours clinic opens in Los Gatos
Hospital emergency rooms have seen a surge in patients as record numbers of unemployed workers without insurance head to the ER for treatment. As far back as four years ago, the Institute of Medicine released a series of reports that described a system that was over capacity and plagued by long waits. That's one of the reasons Los Gatos Dr. A. Richard Adrouny has opened an after-hours clinic.

New regime takes over a young Westmont bunch in 2010
The Westmont football season ended at the hands of a Central Coast Section powerhouse in 2009 when Los Gatos, the eventual CCS Division II champion, steamrolled Westmont 48-0 in an opening round game. The playoff matchup would be the last game for former Westmont head coach Jake Redmond. Redmond decided to step down after the season, winding up as the new head coach across town at Andrew Hill, a new entry in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League after winning the Santa Teresa Division title last fall. A defensive assistant last year at Westmont, former Del Mar head coach Eric Buran was named the new head football coach in early January.

Oko, Campbell return to lead Del Mar into West Valley season
Alex Oko did it as a junior, and the folks at Del Mar High School are hoping he can do it again this year. Oko, the Dons' 6-foot-2, 180-pound quarterback, is coming back for his senior season after taking over the starting position halfway through the campaign last year. Oko completed 40 passes for 492 yards in 2009 and hopes to help the Dons better their last year finish of 1-9 overall and 0-7 in the West Valley Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League.
